Oct 2, 2026Indiana Pacers Fantasy Basketball Preview [26/27 NBA Season]
JLFB BOWL https://joshlloydfantasy.com/bowl/ OVERVIEW The main fantasy basketball challenge with the Indiana Pacers this season is evaluating Tyrese Haliburton’s return from a torn Achilles and understanding Rick Carlisle’s impact on rotations and minutes. I break down where to actually draft Haliburton given questions about his role, playing time, and how his presence (or absence) shapes the value of nearly every Pacers player. I also analyze where the market is mispriced on key Pacers like Pascal Siakam, Ivica Zubac, and the rest of the supporting cast across points and category leagues. KEY TAKEAWAYS Tyrese Haliburton is overvalued at his current Yahoo (10) and ESPN (12) ranks given his Achilles recovery, uncertainty about his minutes, and Carlisle’s historical minute management—target him early second round at best, especially avoiding him in Yahoo points leagues due to weak points production. Drafting Haliburton in the first round effectively commits you to a punt points build, since he’s a low-usage, low-scoring player even when healthy; make sure you’re prepping your team structure accordingly if you take that risk. Pascal Siakam’s value meaningfully diverges between categories (50–60 range) and points leagues (can justify around 30), but avoid him anywhere near ESPN’s category rank of 24 or ADP of 30—usage and assists are likely to drop further with a healthy Haliburton. Ivica Zubac is worth considering in the 50–65 range for points leagues and 60–75 for categories, but only if the price is right; watch for Carlisle’s tendency to split center minutes, which could severely cap upside compared to his 33-minute peak with the Clippers. Avoid Andrew Nembhard in standard drafts due to an expected collapse in assists and usage with Haliburton back—lacks the upside late-round flyers should have, better suited for deep leagues only. Kelly Oubre Jr. is being overdrafted in some formats but represents reasonable value late in deeper leagues; don’t expect last season’s starter minutes or steady production. Jay Huff is not standard-league relevant outside of stash/injury contingency plays, despite eye-catching blocks numbers; don’t chase 9-category illusions or Reddit hype. Keep expectations low on Jarace Walker and Aaron Nesmith for standard formats; both are end-of-roster or deep-league options, with little indication of breakout upside barring major injuries.
